Free Utility Turns PowerPoint Presentations into SWF Flash Videos

This program allows you to do two things:

  1. You can publish your PowerPoint as a SWF flash video. It retains all your effects, and gives you a few customization options (like gives you the option to be able to click-advance the slides in the SWF flash video). It also will generate an HTML file with the flash video embedded in it if you chose to allow the program to do so.
  2. You can insert SWF flash videos into your PowerPoint presentations.

EDITORS NOTE: The above link takes you to an article on politicallymotivated.net, the website of the user who contributed this article. That article contains the links to the 7.2 MB freeware program iSpring Convertor that converts PowerPoint to SWF. The download file scans clean in AntiVir though I have not tested its function by installing it.

authorPOINT Lite should be checked out also... It is free and converts the Powerpoint into a nice flash with a slide map.

I have not tested it thoroughly.

But the free version of this program puts a bar on the bottom of your presentation with ispring written on it. I'm still trying to find a good free powerpoint to flash converter.

Well, I gave it a try. I've got some rather complex PPT presentations. They have multiple images/slide with text and all of these elements have there own animations and/or transitions. There is also a music overlay. Unfortunately iSpring wasn't up to the task. The animations became very "stepped" and jerky. It is probably fine for less intensive PPT presentations but it really didn't work for me.

Tis true. Both OpenOffice and Microsoft Office have their pros and cons.

Well, ispring is good.

I think Wondershare PPT2Flash Standard also perfect. It is an PowerPoint to Flash converter, it is ideal for web sharing, business presentation and creating Flash banner. The special player templates makes my PowerPoint presentation diversification. When I want to make business presentations, I often choose the thumbnail player template to enhance my presentation. It is a good way to Wow up vistors to your website.

To delight, I made a lot of Flash banners for my website with this tool, my friends like them very much.

Wondershare also supplys such samples, like this sample with thumbnail:

iSpring Convertor is clean; I scanned it also before installing it.

I wouldn't post a scumware filled software :)

AVG scan shows it is clean too.

Thanks Ashraf. This is just what I needed.

A quick google shows that there are other PPT to SWF converters, but they are priced from $50 to $200. It is nice to see a free one.
