The Complete Guide to Google Wave
Confused about Google Wave? Check out this great free guide.
Invitations to Google Wave are still trickling out. If you have an invitation, are waiting on an invitation, or are just curious I suggest reading this guide. The guide is written by Gina Trapani with Adam Pash (of Lifehacker fame). It's well researched, comprehensive, and easy to read. Reading it can turn you into a verifiable Wave expert. :)
The guide has eight chapters:
- Meet Google Wave
- Get Started with Wave
- Manage Your Wave Contacts
- Find and Organize Waves
- Dive Deeper in Wave
- Wave Gadgets
- Wave Bots
There are several topics in each chapter, including the anatomy of a Wave, managing contacts, keyboard shortcuts, customizing the interface, and adding files, links, photos, and video to a Wave. There's a section on what's not working in the current version (it isn't only you). The fun stuff is towards the end, with the gadgets and bots – weather or Wave Sudoku anyone?
The Guide is a work in progress and will be updated as Google Wave evolves. From the authors: 'You always have access to the latest and greatest version of this guide's contents in its entirety at completewaveguide.com'
There is an inexpensive DRM-free version available as a PDF now with a soft cover print book to follow in early 2010.
