CMOS Settings Wrong.

As I turn on my computer this new option appears stoping the boot process.

It warns me that the CMOS settings are wrong, for this I have two options, press F2 (or F3 I can't remember) for automatic setup or default setup, and F3 (or F2 I can't remember) to set it up myself.

I chose the latter and the blue (BIOS) menu appears. I choose CMOS settings config and pressed F3 again to automatically detect masters and slaves. I set the correct date and hour, save everything and boots again.

My sister had a similar problem and it hasn't stopped since, no matter what, the warning appears again.

What should I do?

I am an alternative health consultant and should make it clear that computers are something i know very little about. Therefore, it is my hope that this post benefits someone. I was having the same problem: "cmos settings wrong".
It has been this way for several months. One night, i had a strong feeling not to shut down all the power to the PC. The next day for some reason, the computer started correctly. The problem was solved from that day onwards. My PC is connected to a power bar. That power bar is connected to an Isobar 4-6. The Isobar connects to the outlet in the wall. Generally i turn off everything at the end of the day, PC, power bar and Isobar.
This time, i only shut down the PC and monitor. Power bar and Isobar were left "on". As long as i leave it this way over night, the PC loads correctly the next morning.
Hope this is helpful. Thank you.

CMOS batteries can become weak over a period of time. Its 5 years, so it may need a change. CMOS batteries come cheap, so its advisable to change it. I think things should be fine then.

What should I expect if I don't fix this problem until next year?

I've been using my computer with the same motherboard since the end of 2003.

Seems like the CMOS settings are not getting saved. You can try and change the CMOS battery. It may have become weak.
