Change your Android Home Screens with this Popular App

GO Launcher EX IconGO Launcher EXAndroid has been liked by many partly for its open and customization nature. Even right from the Android home screens, you can run a free app to make changes to your liking and extend their features.

GO Launcher EX, the extended version of GO Launcher, is one of such apps and that is widely used for replacement of your home screens to launch your apps.

With this app installed, you can increase the number of home screens, set the grid size and choose a screen transition effect. You can pinch a home screen to get a preview of all your home screens. From the preview, you can add or remove any home screens, re-order them, tap a home icon to set it as the default home screen, or quickly jump to a home screen by tapping its thumbnail.

At the bottom or by the side of a home screen, you can increase dock rows to 3 to accomodate more docked icons via the application setttings.

Tap the docked app drawer, you can see your recent running apps, close all running programs with one touch, and quite similar to the way you do with Apple's iOS, you can touch and hold an app icon in the list of all apps, then press the 'x' sign to uninstall an app, or drag an app icon over the other to place them in a folder.

These are just a small part of the many features that come with this superb app.

Give it a spin to find out more user settings and many goodies including themes and widgets exclusively designed for this app launcher.

Hi to all

This is kind of a warning to HTC One X phone users.

I installed Go Launcher Ex on my HTC One X phone only to find that, even without making Go Launcher the default launcher instead of HTC Sense, I could not get back into the HTC Sense launcher pressing the home button and selecting HTC Sense in the popup menu.

So I uninstalled Go Launcher via Settings/Apps, BUT even then no matter what I tried I still could NOT get to the home screen or the Apps drawer.

After an hour of trying to get there I gave up and reset my HTC One X back to factory settings, losing quite a bit of data in the process, as I just couldn't get to do anything.

Whether it was just my phone or all HTC One X's I have no idea but as I said before BE WARNED and take care.

How do I delete extra home screens on go launcher?

by Jojo Yee on 28. October 2012 - 2:12  (101484)

@Olivia Clare
You can try to tap the Menu button then the Edit button to get a preview of the home screens, touch and hold a home screen for a second then drag it to the trash bin.

How do I remove it?

by Jojo Yee on 29. July 2012 - 2:19  (96809)

@Thomas, you can remove it like the normal way of removing an app. Besides following this tip on How to Uninstall an App, GO Launcher EX also allows you to remove an app almost like the iOS system does. Go to All Apps, press and hold an icon of the app until it starts wiggling, then tap the 'x' sign.

I have a Nexus 7 running Android 4.1.1, and there is an icon in my apps tray called "GO Launcher EX" that has the word DOWNLOAD across the icon. When launched, it prompts to download from the Play Store. I never downloaded this, and I want it gone from the apps tray but it doesn't show up under Settings where my installed apps are. How can I get rid of this?

by Jojo Yee on 27. August 2012 - 12:52  (98357)

@Timpdx, an icon with the word Download is not an installed app but a shortcut to the Play Store. To remove a shortcut icon, touch and hold it for about two seconds until a menu pops up, from which you can choose to delete, rename or replace. Give it a try.

I have the GO Launcher EX "Windows 7" Theme installed and have had for a few weeks now.

It is the best app I have ever installed, in fact it makes the Android phone everything it should have been but never was.

The features are numerous, but I love the quality of the wallpaper and the fact that it supports landscape including all icons and the top and bottom task bars as well (not to mention the icons on these bars also rotate)

Another must have feature is folders.

I would have paid for this app but being FREE it is AMAZING!!!!!!!
