BitTorrent Client-moved from comments
What about the original BitTorrent client? It's up to 6.0.3 and screams on both Vista 64-bit and XP Pro...
The 'original' Bittorrent client is now based on the codebase of uTorrent (which was bought for peanuts, as a side note)

BitTorrent 6 series is, as was pointed out in comments, just a re-branded version of uTorrent with the added baggage of BitTorrent DNA, which, as far as I can tell, does nothing for the average user, but can cause issues. I am looking at it (again) but it most likely will not be a suggested client.

I just re-ran some tests and kept better notes. BitTorrent 6.0.3, installs the DNA without asking (you can delete it later) and the DNA is always running even when BitTorrent is closed. The DNA uses about 7192K in memory. As far as I can tell, the DNA can use your bandwidth to help BitTorrent, Inc., anyhow as I said, it does nothing for the average user.
You can delete the DNA and the memory use of 1052K comes close to uTorrent's 944K. I found that all the clients ran about the same on my speed tests.
But there really is no reason to get this re-branded version of uTorrent when you can get uTorrent.
