Best free music notation software -- missing
Last Update: Thu, 10/09/2008 - 21:18 — choicefresh
I'm looking for a good free music notation/composition software. Some I've heard of are:
- MuseScore
- Finale NotePad
- Anvil Studio
- Bucket o' Tab
- Denemo
- Easy Music Composer Free
- GNU LilyPond
- iabc
- Musette
Does anyone have any opinions on these? Gizmo, do you think there could be an article about this?

Here are a few:
An old version (2.54) of Fruity Loops (shareware):

Notation Player 2.1 is great for getting sheet music from a MIDI file.
This is the free version. (Paid upgrades for more advanced programs)

LMMS - Linux MultiMedia Studio. It's available for both Linux and Windows!
An all in one Music Studio (FREE!) Compose, record, edit, Mix, MIDI-keyboard and much more. Import of MIDI and FLP (Fruityloops® Project) files.

I think this is a good list to start with. I hope others find more.
Finale NotePad is not a freeware T_T so sad
Notation player was good for me. It made a nice .pdf of a MIDI file I downloaded
Second that!
