Best Of History Web Sites

Links to over 1,000 web sites about history, plus history activities, games, and more.

This site contains annotated links to over 1,000 sites devoted to history. You can find categories dedicated to medieval history, oral history, pre-history and more. There are K-12 lesson plans and activities for teachers. The annotated links are very good - I wandered into art history and didn't come out for quite a while.
The site has published two books, you have to click on links to get to them and they in turn are linked to amazon.com. They also offer workshops for teachers.

Might be an excellent resource for US history; Interesting that under "American" history, nothing appears to have happened north of the 49th Parallel. A whole country, one physically larger than all of the United States, disappears. Helps to explain what happened to the Incas.

What? You mean there are places past the 49th parallel? =)

It is US History focused. Its a good resource for US history, it would be a daunting task to add the history of other countries, there's so much to say about all the other places in the world.
I rather like sites that are done well that focus on one topic. I'll see what I can dig up on other places. So many sites, so little time.............

I guess my comment is aimed at your headline and to a certain extent, content of your review. Your audience is multi-national, yet the review is of a uni-national history site and there is nothing in the review to alert people to that. If you directed people to the best history of nuts site would you overlook the fact it was only the history of walnuts?

You make an excellent point. I'll do my best to be more descriptive in the future with these types of topics.
