No reasons are given for Byet being recommended. I did a bit of browsing and found that it was quite highly recommended on one review site, but so were others. I also found other free hosts that have more features ( byet don't offer cgi or ssi) and there are a number af extremely bad reviews quoting personal experience.
In the end, I concluded it's free, so you can't really trust it, and I may just try it myself. It's not critical.
Unfortunately one bad apple in the barrel calls into question everything else on the site, including free security software, which IS critical, and the credibility of the site itself.
That's a good suggestion, thanks igornevsky.
Any chance of adding some kind of revision marks to this excellent but rather lengthy page? I can never find what has changed since the last rev.
That's a good idea IvanDurakov. The items added most recently are now marked with a 'New' icon, and with quick links to the items from the Index Table.
Any suggestions for landscaping or outdoor space design?

There are many online operating systems or web operating systems in the internet.

Thanks Connor for the feedback. Currently we have included Glide under the category of "Desktop and GUI" > "Web Desktop". There might be more such as Icloud, EyeOS and others. Please share with us if you would like to recommend a good one.

Hello, i have a suggestion to make: www.PHPanywhere.net, a FREE online PHP editor. It has: syntax highlighting, a FTP explorer, unlimited undo/redo, all packed in a familiar desktop enviroment. Code completion is coming soon, too.
Thanks for the suggestion Zvone. Pretty good as a code editor for the PHP language.
Thanks Kaspars for mentioning Knowcase, which is now added to the list.
You're welcome Cooleeman.
Thanks for the suggestion Micha.
The best article ever read about free online services. Thanx for sharing such a useful information.
Here's one for the "Best Free Room Planner / Floor Layout Plan" category: http://www.sweethome3d.com/. It's not really online, but as a java web start app, it is almost transparently cross-platform. And it's amazingly feature-rich.
For the "Best Free Meeting Scheduler", you might want to include ScheduleOnce (http://www.scheduleonce.com/). Its major advantage over others of its kind is that it integrates very nicely into Google Calendar, making time selection very quick for everyone who uses it.
Nice n useful information. thanx
Thanks for the suggestions dirtprof.
Out of curiosity, I submitted the URL of techsupportalert.com to Anubis for analysis and it reports http://www.techsupportalert.com/ as malicious.
--uhm, I guess this is a reliable report since you guys recommended Anubis yourselves.
Moderators note: this post was edited to make it briefer
Anubis falsely reports any site that uses the Drupal CMS as malicious. That includes www.nasa.gov, garmin.com, drupal.org, the US House of Representatives website, Gizmos' Freeware and many others.
This bug has been reported to Anubis. They need to fix it as over 100,000 sites use Drupal including some of the world's most popular websites.
Gizmo
This was the response I received today from Anubis:
"You are right, the report is a bit misleading.
This are all side-effects of Internet Explorer, which creates files on the hard disk (i.e., cache) and modifies registry keys. Note that Anubis is designed to analyze malicious software, the analysis results for the website analysis are sometimes not correct. Please use Wepawet (http://wepawet.iseclab.org) to analyze websites for malicious content, the analysis reports of Wepawet are much better"
This is the Wepawet report which correctly shows as as clear:
