background problems

ok i have windows xp home eddition and i cant change my back ground i have already exusted my resores with my video card support and its not the problme i suspect that it's a xp problem and i have no malis programs on ym computer and it just dosent let me change my back ground it is grayed out like its an administor not letting me change my background  but i have no settings to make it do that and i realy dont want to pay 59.98 just for some guy to tell me somthing i might already know so if any one have some usefull sugestions i would like that thanks :)

Or simply, right-click the computer desktop....then click properties...to access those same attributes.

But in case you've tried this direct approach to no avail, you might try locating and deleting the wallpaper bitmap image at its source:

C:\Documents and Settings\(Your User Name)\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft

Check to see if you got Viruses you might have got hijacked!

Sorry if you have done this but have you gone into control panel:
Go to 'Start' bottom left corner - Control Panel - Look for 'Display' - Click on there and you should easily access all the changing of themes, wallpaper changes etc from there. Let us know how you get on
