Ashampoo WinOptimizer. Free This Weekend [Expired]
Here's news of a great freebie, but you'll need to be quick.
A UK-based online software store, V3, is offering Ashampoo WinOptimizer 6.6 to all its customers free of charge. Normal price for the application is around 50 US$. You have to be a member of V3 though, so you'll need to go through their normal sign-up procedure.
The product is a general application which claims to be able to optimize your pc. You can do a quick scan or full scan for malware etc, and also optimize your internet connection.
Check out http://store.v3.co.uk and follow the link on the front page. This tells you how to download the software and how to get your licence key.
Remember, this offer ends at midnight on 3rd May, GMT, so hurry if you want to take advantage.
And my thanks to Dave, who alerted me to this great find. If you have made any similar discoveries, tell us about them at http://www.techsupportalert.com/content/submit-product-review.htm.

None whatsoever, at least that I can see. Winoptimizer 2010 is free, all the time, btw.

Thanks, since I never got the promised email about the offer, just a suspiciously-timed spam allegedly from AT&T and trying to get me to click on a link that probably would be bad news. Even though the spam is professional-looking without the bad grammar and/or spelling such often exhibit, I know it is not legitimate because I don't have and never had an ATT account.
I am never getting the email after creating my account. Anyone else having this problem?
Bit of a `phaff` but worked OK in the end.
Downloaded fairly easily. Had to initially create an account with http://store.v3.co.uk. Easy enough. Then downloaded the program by clicking on the link contained in the graphic. Obtained the serial key directly from Ashampoo after installing and requesting Full Version Key.
One problem though, as this installed, it tries to install a toolbar. Just delete the ticked dialogue boxes and then the program installs, no problem. So be careful on installing.
Have to admit, I have used Ashampoo programs many times (especially freebies) and they they are quite good though this is the first time I have seen Ashampoo try to install a toolbar on any of their programs. Hopefully it will be the last.
Downloaded it (several tries, seems to be a glitch in the membership sign-up process?), I then had some problems with Ashampoo, duplicate emails. However, perserverance (some call it stubborness) paid off. Installed and ran perfectly. Love it. TuneUp Utilities 2009,and Win Utilities Pro ver.9.4.10. compare unfavorably with this app; Ashampoo Optimizer has much broader scope. Will highly recommend it. Thanks for the tip!
I got thirty ++ plus ++ emails from this crew after my last 'freebie' try. Took threats to get 'em to stop sending them.
..good luck, no thanks !!
Not downloading for me for some reason.... Anyone have this problem?
