All You Can Read..........And Then Some

Read the largest database of global magazines and newspapers on the Internet for free.

allyoucanread.com says its the largest database of magazines and newspapers in the world, with listings for approximately 22,800 magazines and newspapers from all over the world. I'm not counting, but I won't argue.
The newspaper listings are categorized country and then subcategorized by regions, cities and states.
The magazine listings are categorized by type and subcategorized by topic.

The database is searchable with basic and advanced search engines. You can search all the publications by name, keyword, category or location.
There is so much information on the site that I've separated them into newspaper, magazine, and trade magazine sections.
I didn't visit every area and every link on the site. If I tried that you might get this article in, oh, a few months or so.
I did spend several hours looking into diverse newspapers of the world, several magazine categories, and several trade publication categories.

Newspapers
Newspapers are listed by country, state or region, and then by city.
States that have many cities list the major cities at the top, with the rest of the cities below.
Global Top 100 Newspapers lists newspapers by name followed by the country in parentheses.
The top ten newspapers can be viewed by country. Clicking on a countries link brings up a page with a short description of the country at the top, followed by the top ten listings.
Many of the newspapers are published in the local language. A few of them offered me the font needed to view the newspaper.
Some of the newspapers were quite dated - some as early as the year 2000, and there are still listings for some newspapers that have closed their doors recently.

Magazines
The magazine section features an editors choice of the top ten magazines, or you can look up magazines by category or choose a topic in the tag cloud.
Magazines cover a lot of topics. There are main categories with sub-categories. Sub-categories have listings of specific topics.
Here's a list of the main categories:
Art and Entertainment, Book and Literary, Business, Car, Computer, Education, Family and Parenting, Fashion, Food and Drinks, Health and Fitness, Hobby and Crafts, Home and Garden, Hunting and Fishing, International, Kids, Lifestyle, Medical and Nursing, Men's, Military, Movie and TV, Music, News, Pets and Animals, Religion, Science and Technology, Society and Culture, Sports,
Teen, Trade, Travel, US States, and Women's.
I noticed that several titles were listed in more than one section. In some areas there's a good bit of overlap, other areas not much. Some topics had several magazine titles, and some had only one title.
One thing I liked is that the magazines published outside the US are written in the native language of the area.

Free Trade Magazines
The list of free trade magazines is extensive and include International, Mexico and Canada locales.
Trade magazines are listed by type with an option to list them in alphabetical order.
The  International, Mexican and Canadian areas have quite a bit of overlap in the titles they offer.
Free magazines are available in these categories: Agriculture, Automotive, Biotechnology & Pharmaceuticals, Computers,
Construction, Education, Engineering, Executive & Management, Finance, Food & Beverage, Government, Healthcare, Human Resources, Industrial & Manufacturing, Internet, Information Technology, Insurance, Mechanical/Machine, Meetings & Travel, Multimedia, Network/Communications, Purchasing & Procurement, Retail, Sales & Marketing, Telecom & Wireless,
Trade/Professional Services, Transportation & Logistics, and Utility & Energy.
Note: some publications offer a limited "free trial period". If you decide not to subscribe you can cancel the trial subscription.
It generally takes up to twelve (12) weeks before receiving your first copy.
More details are in the FAQ and Publisher/Partner sections.

The Fine Print
Ads, on the site itself and on the newspaper and magazine sites.
The site itself has static ads, both text and graphics, and some items that are a little hard to tell if they are an ad or part of the site. The Online Degree segment is an advertisement.
The newspapers and magazines have the most ads. The newspapers are fairly subdued, with some notable exceptions that rival places like Las Vegas for dazzle and flash.

The magazine area of the site has issues that need to be noted.
The site gives the impression that you can access all the content in all the magazines. What I found was that some magazines allow access to almost all the content. Most of them allow you to view a good amount of the content, and some allow access to almost nothing in the magazine.
Some sites have a pop up window with subscription offers that you have to close before you can look at the magazine.
Some magazines let you read parts but reserve certain featured areas for subscribers. In those cases a window popped up saying that only subscribers could view those parts of the magazine.
The magazines have a lot of ads. The print versions have a lot of ads and the online versions are the same.
Most ads I saw were site appropriate and would be ok for viewers of any age. The magazines that feature more, umm, mature content are not very kid safe.
Some magazines have a newsletter you can subscribe to or various projects and such you can download in addition to being able to read the magazine online.
I found mention of a service the site offers called "integrated subscription offers". I couldn't find it other than the mention in the "about" section of the site, but you might run across it.
Overall, I think there is enough free content in the magazine section that makes it worth a visit.
