$699 Adobe Flex Builder Pro 3 Free for Some Users
Adobe Flex Builder Pro 3 is a full-on Flash application development environment based on the Open Source Eclipse DE. Normally $699, Adobe is offering it free to certain users:
1. Anyone who can prove they are unemployed

If you don't qualify you can still get the Adobe Flex 3 SDK as it is now open source. It's not a full development environment like Flex Builder but you can use it with your normal code editor to build Flash apps.

This is no longer available for unemployed people. The link above for people who can prove they are unemployed says, "Thank you for your interest in the program for unemployed developers. We have received over 15,000 requests for participation in the program, so we are currently not able to accept new enrollees. We encourage you to take advantage of the trial version of Flex Builder 3 Professional and the free, online educational training that available through Adobe.com."
The free deal for students still appears to be available at this time.
