I stumbled across this site (that's how most of what you read here gets here; I stumble, trip, and land on things) and was rather impressed with it.

Its called the Digital Photography School, and while its not a school in the normal sense of the word, there's a lot to learn here.
The site has three main topics: Photography Tips and Tutorials, Cameras and Equipment, and Post Production.
There are step by step directions on how to photograph weddings, beaches, food, pets, fireworks and bunches of other things.
There are some terrific composition tips, a useful area for beginners, how to sharpen photos, a few Photoshop tips and more.
The Camera and Equipment section has very thorough reviews, worth a look if you want a solid overview of digital camera features.

There are two fairly large advertising blocks with Flash content, one as a top banner and one in the right column. The ad content is site related, but those big jumping fish and other moving ad content distracted me from reading the articles.
