Review: the Cheapest Inkjet Cartridges Sites
47 Web Inkjet Cartridge Sites Reviewed and Rated
Buying inkjet printer cartridges is a confusing business as there are dozens of web sites all claiming to offer the cheapest and best.
The trouble is that "cheapest" and "best" often don't go together.
At Tech Support Alert we put their claims to the test by buying from 47 Web sites selling cheap compatible inkjet printer cartridges and testing them on our office machines. To test customer service we also returned some of the cartridges we bought.
Many suppliers didn't make the grade but listed below are the best 11.
It's quite possible you may find some sites that offer lower prices than these sites. If price is your only concern then by all means seek out the cheapest. However from our survey I can state that the sites below not only have great prices but good products and a professional level of customer service.
The price of compatible inkjet printer cartridges can vary day to so we suggest you check prices at several of the recommended sites.
Inkjet Printer Cartridges - the Best Sites
So many readers wrote in to tell me about this site I figured I had to heed their call. A full review is currently in preparation but let me give you the skinny: this site offers a winning combination of sharp prices and top service.
In fact BizRate have just awarded them their coveted "Circle of Excellence Platinum Award." Only 41 of BizRate's thousands of vendors have achieved this rating. This is a pretty impressive for a discount operation and a big comfort for potential buyers in an industry characterized by many fly-by-night operations.
Shipping is $3.95 but free if you spend $50 or more. But the prices are so sharp you'll find that you are still mostly better off here than with sites that offer free shipping but higher prices. However if you are spending $20 or less, maybe you should go with free shippers like PrintPal. (Our test set of cartridges cost $35.05) Full review to follow.
CarrotInk.com
The best web site, low prices, a generous returns policy plus good quality products make this one worth checking out. ($37.30) Full review
123inkjets.com *
Offer inkjet printer cartridges at the lowest regular shipping cost plus some good day-to-day specials. ($37.60) Full review
00inkjets.com
Low prices and low shipping costs but a somewhat restricted range. If they stock what you want, they may well be your cheapest option. ($37.60) Full review
Inksell.com
They make their own inks and the quality of their inkjet printer cartridges is very good. We had problems when returning our goods but all ended well. ($37.70) Full review
1-inkjet.com * I used to like this site a lot but following recent complaints I am no longer recommending them.
Inkjet Printer Cartridges - Good sites
Atlas.com
The site is not all that user friendly but the prices are low and they have the best inkjet FAQ in the business. ($39.50) Full review
Myinks.com
Havegood prices, a good range but a clumsy returns procedure. ($40.79) Full review
All-ink.com *
All inkjet printer cartridges get a 110% money back guarantee Add to that free shipping over $40 and you have a site worth considering. ($42.80) Full review
Mrinkman.com* Buying inkjet printer cartridges from the clunky website isn't easy but the prices are low & the service is great ($43.30) Full review
Inkjet Printer Cartridges - Good but not cheap sites
www.global-inkjet.com
Amongst the dearest in this series of reviews though they were still way cheaper than OEM cartridges. ($58.96) Full review
www.officedepot.com *
The brilliant site plus next day delivery may swing it for those folks who prefer the comfort of dealing with a large company. ($57.88) Full review

So, but ink - OEM - from brick & mortar store to prevent being "kissed off" by the net sites - and where do we find quality and a decent price?
I USE PIOUS INKS FROM dealsdiect.com.au. MY LAST ORDER WAS 8 CARTS B/C/M/Y 2 of each total $34.95. NO PROBLEMS SO FAR. QUICK SUPPLY. REGARDS JACK.
Please do not type in all caps.
Thank you.
So, in reading many of these postings - I can only determinr that you should buy OEM cartridges and get them from a brick & mortar store so they can be returned to a real person who can't dance away........Agreed?
DO NOT buy from ClickInks. They claim %100 customer satisfaction and money back guarantee. Look closely - at the very bottom of the web page it says that the moneyback guarantee only lasts 30 days. I bought ink cartridges ahead to make sure to have them when I ran out. The ClickInks website claimed that their remanufactured cartridges were the equivalent of my Epson cartridges and would work for my Epson Stylus Pro 3800. They did not and would not after trying all of the remedies suggested by the Epson customer service people. ClickInks would not give me my money back because I was several days beyond the guarantee period. Waste of time, money, and frustration.
Thank you for sharing your experience for the benefit of others.
I used to get my inkjet cartridges from LD of CA...then this past year they were sending me cartridges from one of their subsidiary companies, 4 inkjets.com.and I've had nothing but crappy, bad cartridges since...they are the worst I've ever received and my Epson printer does not acknowledge them. We've done everything recommended...take them out, shake them again, use alcohol on the copper connections, use pencil eraser also, shut the printer off for 10 min. NOTHING AND I MEAN NOTHING WORKS.. I've called the Company and they will not replace them because they are over 1 yr. I didn't need to use them within that time period, had others to use from a better company, little more $$, but well worth it...so, now I have 7 cartridges (ALL NEW) we've tried 4 new ones to no avail...and I'm stuck with these cartridges that I paid $$ for and cannot use...so, just want to give you a heads up....4 inkjets.com sends out crappy cartridges, unless they have different styles and if they have to replace them, send you the crappy ones, have no idea...I've been using generics for years and have had no problem til I started getting from 4 inkjets.com...
Has anyone had any contact with Printer Ink Warehouse? Wondering if they are a good company to deal with
I have been trying to get a refund of £29.75 plus postage. No answer by phone or email.
Extremely informative and helpful.
Has anyone ordered from InkPlusToner? I placed an order yesterday. This morning I received a confirmation e-mail saying it had shipped. I replied asking when I should expect to receive my order. Within the hour I received a reply telling me that they shipped it UPS and that I could expect my order within 2 to 4 business days. So, looks like Customer Service is okay. Also, they work with Pay Pal. They don't have the cheapest ink on the net, but they beat Epson's and Staples' prices by about 50%. I'll try to update this post when I receive my order, but was wondering if anyone had had any dealings with this company.
Have tried this company before and they are pretty decent, though I would ask for a tracking number, if one was not provided. I've had a good experience with www.motherearthrecycling.com too - I like their site because delivery is included with all orders and they offer great quantity discounts. The inkjet cartridges I have purchased really seem to outperform those I have tried from other suppliers as they print darker.
i just found this site and glad i did....do not ever order from incredibleinkz...after reading these negatives and been waiting around for my in for almost 2 weeks, i sent a claim to paypal just a moment ago....they actually already refunded my money....these guys should be kicked off the net.
I got 2 sets of cartdridges from Inkredibleinkz for only $51. Such a good deal until I found out none of them will work. Inkredibleinkz has ignored my emails and phone calls. No reply at all. Since more than 20 days have gone by, PayPal will not help. There shoud be a way to get bad guys like Inkredibileinkz off the internet.
The incredibleinkz does not work in my printer as guaranteed, and I can't reach anyone. I think it's a rip off too and don't know how to send a claim to paypal. Will they refund if I received the product but it doesn't work? Thanks for any guidance.
Same story. Had to call pay pal this morning
1) On quality / leaking: I made an order from 4inkjets.com and then found a number of really negative reviews at e-p-i-n-i-o-n-s dot c-o-m (gizmo's won't let me include the full link here) /pr-Online_Stores_Services-4InkJets/display_~reviews, especially about messy cartridges and damaged printers (oh-oh!?)
2) I wish there was something on longevity / fading / etc. Anybody with a sunny window and lots of table space?
Bottom line, I ordered these "cheap inks" because my Canon i9900 inks seem to just evaporate when the printer is turned off, and I'm replacing expensive ink to print just a few pages a month (it's my "large format" printer).
Maybe I should put in Canon inks if I print any "special" documents / photos.
4inkjets.com cartridges leak! In the machine, on your hands, in the box! Very nice people. No problem with returns.
FLASH: The remanufactured ink cartridge company LD has been buying up smaller ink remanufacturing companies. If you buy from 4inkjets.com or 123, you will be getting LD cartridges even if the site does not say they are LD. There are a couple of other sellers whose names I cannot remember which are also LD. You will get a box that says LD even if you ordered from 4inkjets, for example. I find that these cartridges leak (MP520 Canon). Since LD cartridges don't work for me, I have a hard time finding reasonably priced cartridges that do work. Any thoughts? Thanks.
Oddly enough, you want to leave that Canon ON at all times. I had the same problem on my S9000, it sucked ink like a Hoover Deluxe. That's because these are designed to do a deep cleaning every time you power on (nothing "evaporates" when the printer is turned off.) Dumb, I know, but hey at least they don't clog up like those Epsons.
BTW, power comsumption is negligible on mine when lefft on all the time (about 1 Watt.)
Hope this helps a bit.
What was your personal experience with 4inkjets.com in terms of service and ink quality?
What about InkredibleInkz...how do they rank in quality and price?
I ordered ink 3 weeks ago and they were paid through Paypal. No reply, no ink, they don't respond to my e-mail. One phone is disconnected -- another has a not available message. I think they are a rip-off.
I justed order and my order was big for a company I had no problems with them and I will order again
I agree - ordered their ink, no delivery, no phone response, then they responded by email a week later, only to say they were out of stock (an ink store out of stock!!!) and sent a refund only at my everyday persistance! Pay more go through an accredited store and don't go thrpugh this bogus vendor!
I ordered 6 cartridges from them on March 11th, they notified PayPal that the order was shipped on March 15th and PayPal forwarded the tracking number to me. On March 19th, they still had not given the package to the shipper. I emailed and called them and got no response. Contacted PayPal and found out that they refunded my charge.
Never at any time could they be bothered to communicate with me in any way. No "sorry we couldn't fulfill you order", not even a notification that they had refunded my money.
Even though I never got their product, I have to give them a giant ZERO on customer service. I certainly won't try again!
price is great. I got my ink 10 days after I ordered it. When removing the tab as instructed the ink spurted out. Ruined a pair of dress pants. The printer did not recognize all of the ink because the chip fell off the ink cartridge. ink must of been too this or something.Could smell rubbing alcohol big time. I will have to clean out the excess ink from my printer and hope it is not ruined. Hate spending retail on ink but I am NOT buying cheap ink online anymore. On the positive side this company, InkredibleInkz, did refund my money ASAP.
You got me once and you will never get me again. Your **** (moderated) ink cartridges have cost me a printer. the sad part is that you just bought a million dollars worth of bad advertising. They are not recognized by printers and jam up the platen so thatthey become throwaways.
I had the worst experience with INCREDIBLE INKZ. Quality is very poor and cartidges are not recognized by the printer. The management instructed me to send cartidges back for full reimbursement. Once they received cartidges, they stopped responding to my e-mails. It's been over a month and they still have not reimbursed me or aknowledged receipt of multiple e-mails. NEVER ORDER FROM THEM AGAIN.
I have also been ripped off by inkredibleinkz. Waiting to see if Paypal can wake them up! Stay away from inkredibleinkz!
I concur about inkredibleinkz....i wish I had've found this site before ordering with them. Just lodged a complaint with paypal to try to get my money back after calling them and trying to get an email response.
We have never reviewed InkredibleInkz so they are not among our recommended sites.
4inkjets.com shipping is now $4.95 if order is under $50.
can you review Castle Ink Cartridges too? I'm curious how they stack up....
What about TonerBoss.com? I bought toners from them that were described (guaranteed!) as "compatible" with my Okidata printer. Apparently false, because they didn't fit. I checked the box and the site and the order, to make sure all the numbers were correct, they are, the toners just don't fit. Now the company won't respond to my request for an RMA number which you HAVE to have when returning your order, or they won't acknowledge it or refund your money. They don't respond to my questions on their site, to emails, or to phone messages. Anyone else have this problem w/them? Any suggestions on how to proceed further with a company that won't acknowledge you?
Hi. It may be worth asking that question here.
http://www.techsupportalert.com/free-legal-information-on-the-web.htm
what about uk based sites. anyone help on this
Hi
I purchase from 999inks.com, very competetive prices, ordered twice from them, good delivery too, free postage and you can use discount codes, buy once and they give you 10% off for all future orders
Maggie
ta, had a look at site, wow, cheap and free postage
i dont recomend 999 inks ordered some never came wont answer emails or refund monies paid AVOID THEM
I purchased some G&G cartridges some time back and we didn't like them that much, purchased some "Premium Imaging Products" cartridges from ConcordSupplies.com and they are better quality and cheap for my printer.
Poster # 5 must own the Print Pal site. They are the MOST EXPENSIVE SITE on this board.
Atlantic Inkjet has been around forever, please look into adding it to the list.
I know why printpal.com is not listed at all. Occasionally, their cartridges do not work, and then the so-called customer service people:
1. Tell you "tough luck" if you are beyond their 6-month warranty, even if only a little and even if it is because you were away on vacation for most of the time beyond the warranty period. In other words, their is no customer service after 6 months. Moreover, their is not even customer courtesy--see below.
2. Tell you that you cannot talk to a supervisor or the company President because "they will not speak to you. That is my job."
3. Tell you to feel free to find another cartridge supplier if you are not happy!! So,,,,,,,,,,,,that's what I did.....Avoid the hassle. Just use another company.
I also had some problems with PrintPal - mostly with cartridges that didn't print anywhere close to as many pages as should have been per cartridge. Customer "service" offered no resolutions.
Why haven't you posted a review of your top site?
I can't believe printpal.com isn't #1 on this list. They're much cheaper than anything else on here. Their products and service are awesome.
00inkjets.com * ...this website doesn't seem to work.
I got a security warning from Trend Micro on the website for 00inkjets.com. Dangerous?
