Thanks a lot for the update. Now it works well and good.
I measured the QR image which you previously had. It was smallest of all the sizes available at http://zxing.appspot.com/generator/
Moreover, my camera was a fixed focus one. So, if I got it close, it blurred out and couldn't find anything.
I think it would be nice if you specify the apps which don't support Apps2SD.
I find it hard to go to Appbrain, search there and find it.
The first reason I decided to root my Samsung Froyo phone is Droidwall and AdFree apps :)
I used SuperOneClick as friend's suggestion, it was quite easy and probably 'zero'failure. I think it is a safe process.
Not sure about warranty after rooting, but I think if I 'factory reset' the phone, the superuser app will be removed automaticaly.
Another good useful app for rooted device is Titanium Backup free version.
You're welcome.
Which is the best free voice chat app for Android?
I think Skype offers that kind of service. But, what are the other choices and which one is the best?
Please add this category below instant messaging area.
Good suggestion Jaikrishna. "Voice and Video Calls" will be added soon.
Skype is popular but I've not been able to install it on my device for some reasons. Tango supports both voice and video over IP, give it a try, though its desktop client has yet to be developed.
Can't install skype? Oh!!!
I think tango is not suitable for this purpose. I'd make other people go mad by telling them to create account, download and install app, blah blah....
Btw, I tried the Chess mentioned here. It was good, but this seems better - https://market.android.com/details?id=uk.co.aifactory.chessfree&feature=...
This looks good and works well, but doesn't have online gaming or puzzles.
These are Skype's descriptions at Android Market:
"You need Android v2.2 to run Skype on a Samsung Galaxy S."
"Some handsets may not be supported."
Skype's current rating is 3.5 with 10m to 50m installs, while Tango's rating is 3.9 with 5m to 10m installs, not too bad :>)
You should add the HowStuffWorks app in the Educational field - it's brilliant!
Any app with which i can change/edit the notification/status bar on the top ?
Good suggestion Kushagra Udai. It's now in the list.
Have you tried imo.im's android app. It looks and works good.
I tried meebo but I'm never able to load it on my computer. It is loading forever.
imo.im's site loads quickly as fast as gmail.
How about WhisperMonitor: http://www.whispersys.com/whispermonitor.html
Thanks for the suggestion J_L. WhisperMonitor is included with WhisperCore 0.3 which is early beta software with a few Nexus devices supported currently.
Gemini App Manager is pretty nice
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.seasmind.android.gmappmgr
- show apps useful information, perfect combination with Elixir
- move apps phone --> SD or SD --> phone
- block apps, it's safer than freezing the apps imo
- for rooted phone, we can control apps autorun. Love this feature for saving battery and memory
- etc
Still no 1 has suggested any app to edit/modify notification bar on top...
and maxthon browser is pretty good...
and mobo player is much much better than qq player
and jojoyee u have not mentioned any multi platform apps like seesmic, tweetdeck
Thanks for the good suggestions Av_Crazy. TweetDeck and MoboPlayer are now in the list.
np...but a word of advice..tweetdeck has been bought by twitter and no 1 knows what will happen of the applciation
and btw my favourite is seesmic
Time out for RealCalc. Just try handyCalc and you'll never need another calculator, unit or currency converter. It does almost everything I know - from solving equations and functions and graphs. It really Rocks!
Just give it a try at https://market.android.com/details?id=org.mmin.handycalc&feature=search_...
Play with it for sometime and you're addicted at once.
However, if it is uncompatible with your device you can always download the apk from the developer's site http://handycalc.wordpress.com/download/
I am facing problem while merging contacts i.e. contacts in phone book and google contacts and facebook contacts... is there any app for it?
Has anyone tried Android Assistant v2.3.6 (more than a task killer 14 features)
It is by far the best one I have tried so far, very informative best looks tells you not just the usual info about whats running but also how much battery power each app consumes.
So instead of guessing or even worse not knowing at all which apps is power hungry this app can help you do just that, and more - kill it, stop it, uninstall it, show statistics, well too many great options to list just try it and you wont need anything else.
You may like these: SystemPanel Lite, Android Task Manager, Watchdog Lite, Task Manager (Yellow Brush Icon)
Thank you for adding File Expert on this list.
For Uninstaller category, we recommend you to check out our newly released app Silent App Uninstaller ROOT, this tool could uninstall apps silently, AFAIK, there're no others uninstaller apps could do this on the market.

As far as I remember, Go Contact can do the job (supports also contacts from Google and Facebook).
I had to unistall it though because of strange behavior with Task Switch app I like (more clicks than usual)
I like CalWidget for displaying events on the front screen
Pretty simple unlike other calendar widget I've tried, customable size and color etc, and quite light.
https://market.android.com/details?id=net.eggenstein.android.calwidget
A minus point is just it uses only default calendar app
Want to share a bit about GO Launcher EX (mine currently 2.29). I've tried other free launchers on the market such as ADW, Launcher Pro etc, well I think I like this launcher
(+)
* create folders on app drawer
* hide icons on app drawer, and lock apps
* loop dock, up to 15 icons
* glide up/down action on home screen, useful for adding app on it like lock screen etc instead of using icon
* never got any FC so far
(-)
* using more memory than ADW and LP
* unlike ADW, I can't change app icon manually. Maybe it could (?)
* less cool free themes and icons
I can stay with only 3 pages on home screen using this launcher, with free space for widgets
Did any one check Talking Tom Cat fun game, if not must checkout Talking Tom Cat its really amazing and funny game for all ages. You can free download Talking Tom Cat from https://market.android.com/details?id=com.outfit7.talkingtom
[Moderator's note : edited link to point to proper site]
It is listed here.
Has anybody seen this?
handyCalc looks pretty complicated.
Every Scientific Calc looks complicated till we get used to it.
But, Really it has a lot of unique and complex features.
