Get Acronis True Image 11 Home for $9.99 (now expired)

UPDATE: This offer appears to  be dead. As of  11 am Thursday the 18th of September PST, all links mentioned below are now showing the full price.    Sorry guys, these things come and go.  - Gizmo

I just received an affilate notice from Acronis that they are offering True Image Home Version 11 for $9.99 for one week only.  As a bonus you get Acronis Disk Director partitioning program for free.

Here's your chance to get the current version of the best drive imaging program on the market for the price of a few cups coffee. Get it while you can.

The Acronis Advice letter was dated the 12th Of September 2008 so I guess the offer will expire one week later

Read the comments below to ensure you get Disk Director for free as well.

Here's the latest news for those who managed to buy True Image for $9.99 but didn't get a free copy of Disk Director.

Joe Zagar, one of our site visitors sent me this email on the 1st of October, 2008.

"Gizmo, here is an update on the Acronis / Disk Director issue. This is the copy of a note one of our Computer Club members received from Acronis Support.

From: Michael Lee, Acronis Customer Central
Tuesday, September 30, 2008 2:53 PM

I apologize for the extreme delay in getting back to you but there were a few issues needed to be resolved. Please be aware that the promotional that you saw was not real. I've been in contact with the marketing folks all the way up to the Director to find out what has happened and evidently someone had created a false website. However, the good news is that we've decided to honor the requests that have already been processed for good customer relations. Below you will find a serial for Disk Director. Please let me know if there is anything else that we can do for you and I hope that you enjoy the software.

Thank you,

Michael Lee
Senior Solutions Architect
Acronis Customer Central"

This seems unambiguous; if bought Acronis True Image at the $9.99 price and you want Disk Director for free then contact Acronis Customer Support and you should get a copy.

Below is the conversation I had with Acronis live chat:
He basically told me that Disk Director was never offered!

Chat Transcript
info: Thank you for contacting Acronis! The chat operator will be with you approximately in 1 minute(s) and 30 seconds. Thank you for waiting.
info: You are now chatting with 'Alex'
Alex: Hello! Thank you for contacting Acronis Customer Central! My name is Alex, how can I assist you?
Grant Bansen: I purchased true image on sept 15 and it was to come with disk director my order ID is xxxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxxx
Alex: where have you purchased it?
Grant Bansen: regnow
Alex: one moment please
Alex: I am looking at your order details, and there is only Acronis True Image 11 Home listed
Grant Bansen: I had clicked on a link that told me that disk director was included and I don't think that that link is there anymore. It was a time limited special.
Alex: according to the receipt you have paid $9.99
Alex: and purchased Acronis True Image 11 Home only
Grant Bansen: I don't think I'm the only one who has had this happen as I did see a discussion about it at this site http://www.techsupportalert.com/acronis-true-image-11-home.htm
Alex: thank you, I've already saw that post. We did not have any special offer like Acronis True Image 11 Home + Acronis Disk Director Suite 10.0 for $9.99
Alex: there was only one special offer last week: Acronis True Image 11 Home for $9.99
Grant Bansen: ok

Some of the posters to this page need a reality check.

I think that Gizmo may have gotten the date wrong in his update to the original post. It's just now turning midnight on the 17th, so now it's the 18th. No big deal since the offer is expired regardless, but it does point out how easy it is to make mistakes, and there are a great many of them in these posts.

Fearing that this may have been too good to be true (no offense, Gizmo!), I approached it with much caution, particularly after reading the few comments where the bonus DiskDirector Suite 10 never appeared after purchase. Almost did it anyway, but then tried the link provided in one of them, from "Personal Computer World", and followed the directions, making sure that the coupon code did in fact change the price for both to $9.99. Got so excited when it did that I ordered another set! The actual order took place on a secure Acronis site, so I knew it was legit, and as soon as my credit card was cleared for the $19.98 (less than 10 seconds!), I had a page with the download links and all four license keys, which I immediately made 2 copies of. As with any great deal like this, you have to act fast, yet like many others I would have been okay with getting just the TI11 for $9.99 - the best price upgrade from my current TI9 was $30, which I'd been considering very seriously.

Acronis is extremely proprietary with their software, and rightly so considering how effective and valuable it is; their licensing agreement only allows for use on 1 computer at a time, even if you own several and even over a home network. Getting these at such good prices makes sure that I can use them on all of them, without having to continually install and uninstall.

I hope that all of you who had problems with this offer are able to resolve them with minimal difficulty, but even if you only got the TI11, know that it was still a fantastic find at this price. This software has saved me countless
hours of work when things have gone awry, and I can't imagine being without it.

My thanks to everyone who contributed in a positive way, and especially to Gizmo and this incredible site...

I think I got ripped off - used the original link http://www.regnow.com/softsell/nph-softsell.cgi?item=4864-32&affiliate=1... to order three copies early yesterday morning for my home machines -- didn't know about the link to order straight from Acronis at the time so I only got the True Image without Disk Director. Unfortunately when I completed my order - ~$30 for three copies, I did get the download link and that worked, BUT - no registration codes. And no registration codes via email (checked my spam folders too). I've tried contacting regnow.com but no response. Are they legit? Is this a rip off? It seems to have worked for other people. Any suggestions?

by gizmo.richards on 18. September 2008 - 9:36  (7966)

RegNow is a very reputable company. It was through them I originally found out about this deal.

If I were you I'd contact Acronis directly and ask for both the TI licenses and Disk Director. Based on the comments below this has worked for other folks.

If all else fails simply ask RegNow for a full refund. I have no doubt you will get it.

Apparently - according to Acronis Customer Support - RegNow had "some issues"...
I for one did receive an e-mail, but without any license codes.

I checked with Acronis via Life Chat - as suggested in many other posts - and they did supply me with the license code for True Image.
However, on the Disk Director issue I got stonewalled. They refused to give me the software / license code, claiming that it had never been "an official offer"... :-(( Seems we all have read things that were not there...

Very strange / bad / dissapointing / younameit, that they don't treat people the same!

My 2 cents, grtz, Jaap.

by Anonymous on 17. September 2008 - 11:59  (7920)

Interesting chain of replies, my two cents. I bought TI11 on Monday, only got TI not disk director for the 9.99 price using the code. I contacted the company via live chat Tuesday afternoon and asked if I was eligible for the DD product after buying TI, I was told no. After reading about the success some people had, I contacted Acronis again via live chat, told this agent the same story but did include my TI order #, got a download link and code within a minute.
I think you need to include all the order info if you want to make your case.
Go directly to the acronis site and order through there, it is a secure site.

by Anonymous on 17. September 2008 - 18:53  (7941)

I just contacted them and requested a download link and access number for Disk Director Suite 10. they sent it just like that

by Anonymous on 17. September 2008 - 11:49  (7919)

Hi, Has this offer expired?
I've tried everything - the coupon code no longer seems to work. I could get true image with disc director "free" for $79.99 OR true image on it's own for $49.99, but no sign of the $9.99 offer anywhere! If anyone out there can still find a way to get this offer please post on how to do it. Many thanks, Hamish

by Anonymous on 17. September 2008 - 6:04  (7899)

Be careful to use the right link, they would not give me Disk Director so I'll have keep on using GParted which works decent anyways

by mirtma65 on 17. September 2008 - 6:01  (7898)

Well, yesterday I bought True Image. No Disk director, as code was not valid. Today I've checked again, and now it is valid! What to do, to get Disk Director?

by Anonymous on 17. September 2008 - 4:33  (7890)

I just got Acronis True Image and Disk Director both for $9.99.
I downloaded them from Acronis.con.

Someone said that the download site is not secure. It is secure on the Acronis website.

The codes are listed on the download page and were also sent by e-mail.

by Anonymous on 17. September 2008 - 2:45  (7886)

No problem.
The link in number 15 worked for me, and the shopping cart was secure.

by Anonymous on 16. September 2008 - 22:54  (7880)

Initially I was unable to get Disk Director. I did an online chat with Acronis and provided the Order number after purchasing Acronis for $9.95. They immediately sent the link and serial key for Disk Director.

by Anonymous on 16. September 2008 - 23:41  (7881)

ATTENTION**** If you did receive a Download of TRUE IMAGE 11, BUT did not get a Download of DISK DIRECTOR, or were not allowed to enter the "ATIH80" code, then go to the Acronis site and initiate a "CHAT" and provide your ORDER #. They just gave me a link to download the DISK DIRECTOR program, and provided the SERIAL NUMBER to install it. Took only about 2 minutes! TIME IS NOW 1930 EST. I hope this helps!

by Anonymous on 17. September 2008 - 16:56  (7937)

I entered chat mode, talked to two different reps and all I got was pissed off. No such offer. Oh. Sorry. That offer expired. etc.

I sent Gizmo a transcript of the chat in hopes he might know who or where to check this out and get us the real scoop.

I had tried this earlier today with no luck. I tried again as the person in the previous posting did and lo and behold no problems. Opened the live chat as suggested, gave them the order # (which I hadn't done earlier) and they gave me a link and serial code. The download worked fine, I imagine it will work withut issue.

Thanks for the suggestion, my 10 dollar investment just doubled for free.

Best deal I've come across in a long while

by mirtma65 on 17. September 2008 - 8:13  (7904)

I've just tried this, with no luck. She said, that offer doesn't include Disk Director...

by dollyp on 17. September 2008 - 10:56  (7915)

Same story, bou have to keep pushing. I already had TI11 and only purchased it again to get DD so I pushed on for longer, told them I only bought yesterday's offer to get DD and was prepared to demand my money back.

Good luck

by Anonymous on 16. September 2008 - 19:16  (7869)

Unfortunately, this offer appears to be no longer available using Coupon Code ATIH80 on Acronis' website.

by Anonymous on 16. September 2008 - 18:07  (7862)

Giz, you might want to check this out:

Seems like cloning with Acronis 11 has caused problems... it's not clear if the issue has been resolved yet...

by Anonymous on 16. September 2008 - 19:01  (7868)

That problem was repotred last November, (see date in posting), since it's almost a year old more review would need to be done to count it as a current problem

by Anonymous on 16. September 2008 - 17:53  (7860)

Just checked with Acronis Live Chat. The offer is no longer available. Damn, wish I had bought it before I ate lunch.

by vbarch on 16. September 2008 - 18:09  (7863)

You're lucky I got the coupon code to work before lunch but they still charged my card the 79.99, what a rip. I had to call to cancel my order and they acted like they never heard of the promotion, pain in the u know what

by Anonymous on 17. September 2008 - 16:59  (7938)

Watch your credit card bill. I cancelled less than 5 minutes after ordering and they said the order was charged and I would have to jump through hoops to get my money back.

by Anonymous on 16. September 2008 - 17:26  (7857)

Just to be sure I didn't follow the link to the website but went to it directly. Found the product, put in the code when checking out and sure enough got it for $9.99. Didn't see any reference to disk director but True Image for 10 bucks is a great deal regardless.
BTW, this is directly fro Acronis so I wouldn't worry about the validity of the offer.
